I am going to jump in here too....
I am going to do a ground up build on a 1974 Nova. I just pulled the trigger on a 408 LQ9 from TSP and L92 heads/T56. I think I will use BRP Engine and Trans mounts and an LH8 pan.

My problem is that EFI confuses me. I think that will be the biggest hurdle for me, which induction/ecu set up to use.

You guys all have badass cars with awesome swaps! I gotta catch up.....

Welcome! We got you a spot on the list. Keep us posted with your build.

Don't worry about the EFI part - it's really not that difficult once you start to learn about it. My build was my first foray into EFI, and it seems to have gone OK thus far (save having to go back and fix some corners I cut).

I have looked up several build threads and see guys with laptops in their cars when they are firing them up and all I can think is OH CRAP! I guess I can get my teenage son to figure it out, he is better with computers than I am.

Feel free to ask away any questions you have if you do end up keeping the stock EFI setup and purchase HP Tuners.. I've become "quite familiar" with the program.. arrrg

Thanks Joe, I promise I will be asking a bunch of questions. Right now I have no intake set up and I am trying to decide on what set up and computer system. Lots of research to do on here.

Well I have decided I may try the dirty dingo slider "adjustable" motor mounts. Seems to me that it may be a good idea because I don't know where I need to position the motor. Anyone use the DD slider mounts?

Another question, I have heard the LH8 pan hangs pretty low, does anyone have pics of the LH8 pan on their car? I am trying to find a bare block to mock up my motor and trans and oil pan and mounts and on and on......

Is there anyway we can add which transmission crossmember is used on each swap?

I see no problem with that. I used a RaptorX cross-member (not recommended). We highly modified it to fit the exhaust and for fitment issues.

I have a feeling I'm going to be asking a ton of questions regarding this before too long. I'll be buying my dads 72 Nova around spring time this year and we have a 5.3/TH400 setup I'm planning to swap in to it. Ultimately I plan to turbo it, seems it won't be a simple task.

lots of turbo'd novas and camaros on here. From budget to wild they're on here. Take a day and just read, search, and take notes. What i spent on the computer saved me four fold in the garage. Guys on here will definitely share and it's a friendly forum. Ask away and build whatever you want.

what I spent on the computer may have saved me time, but still didn't prevent me from buying waaay too much or having to redo work when I though I was done.

The 73' and 74' body styling is not bad... its just them ugly Bumpers.. now, them Gen 4 X-Body is the really Un-Desireable ones !!

Then again. Some Lady wants to offer her Father's Original 75'.. might have to look at it for a DD.. LOL

cruisin, I'll take care of ya man! A little busy, but when I get a few minutes I'll add you to the thread.

gone mad, all x-bodies are welcome. And I think those are in the "so ugly they're bitchin'" category. I'm glad you did something different. I'll add it with cruisin's.

kw... got you taken care of. I had to move the 75-later builds into my second post (#3) due to character limits.

Cruisin', gonemad, I added yours. Check 'em out for me, make sure they're correct. gonemad, what are your specs (accessories, exhaust, oil pan, etc.)?
