5.3 swap in 94 beater
ok guys i have tryed and tryed to find the answers myself on here but no luck... i swaped a 5.3 into my 94 1500. it was a 4.3 tbi with a 4l60e. I figured after cutting the stupid stock v6 mounts off the frame it would be easy sailing. and so far it has been untill the drive. trans is stuck in limp mode no 1st no overdrive. im using the edelbrock intake with the msd box and a holly 650 carb. I figured this would be the cheepest and quickest way... so far im wrong. the carb has the holly tps kit instaled on it and pluged in. this is the part i need help with. The closest thing ive read about simular to this is a carb setup with a hei distubitor and its you take the pink and white wire and give the white wire a rpm signal for the ecm. as needed for the 4l60e a tps, rpm signal, vss. Now my msd box for the coilpacks to run has a yellow wire for a rpm guage. So after running around the block with open headders for the first time realizing i have major trans problem drove home checked fluid pretty and pink. big relief. So thats when my research started and i realized i had no rpm signal to ecm. due to the fact i dont have a dizzy any more. So i attached my yellow wire from msd box to the white wire.? right. unpluged ecu and disconected batt trying to clear code. after a hour unpluged i tryed again. nothing same exact thing limp mode all day. im still trying to track down a gm1 scanner so i can run codes but untill them is there anything im over looking. and my window wipers dont work idk if it has anything to do with it but whatever.. please help im losing my mind and my dads ready to take a bat to my (worthless truck sitting on the side of the house)

So what year is the 4L60E? A TBI computer won't run it if the trans is newer than 1995 or so. The newer transmissions are marked PWM inside the bellhousing and they need a different type of computer to control them.
BTW that was hard as hell to read, but I understood it. Edit: Your dad is ready to take a bat to it? Are you still in high school? If so, your English teacher needs to give you hell.
