Has anyone done an SN95 with an LSx?
Honestly I know a lot of Mustang/LSx swaps have been done but other than a guy who did a 00 GT with a 6.0 - I haven't seen anything other than fox bodies done. I like fox's but I figured I'd enjoy an SN95 a little more as I like the styling better...
I bought a 97 Mustang GT and I'm gonna drive it til winter then pull it off the road. I'd like to do a 4.8 with rod bolts and maybe a set of LS6 heads and a cam spin the motor high and make in the 350-400whp range N/A - use it as a street and HPDE car - keep some spray for the 1/4. I'd like to do a T-56 trans.
I know a firebird/camaro t-56 should work/fit with a custom driveshaft. And I know the mod motor mounts work with a lsx. I guess I'm basically most concerned with the wiring and keeping the stock gauges working.
I'm just curious if anyone's tackled this yet and if so - can you point me to threads and/or info.
Thanks

i did it to a 94 v6. i have a stock 6.0 with a built th350 and posi 3.27 gear. i changed to aftermarket gauges. you can use the stock gauges. you will need to tap the spots where the ls gauge sending units are to the ford gauges sending unit size. it spins to 6k pretty quick. only thing done to motor was arp rod bolts. i can help you as needed.

I did it with my 1999 Cobra. I use the Ford ECU to run the LS motor and kept the cable clutch. obviously all my factory gauges work. Got it tuned last week. 460rwhp. To quote my tuner (who was impressed): "Ford's 1996-2004 computer is the best computer there is for mods. Very responsive and easy to work with".
I can't say for a 1997 but for 1999-up the RPM/speedo gauges are linked digitally to the computer. I don't know how you could use a GM ECU and run the Ford gauges. Just food for thought.

just did a 95 sapphire blue auto gt. given i did buy the aje k member and motor mounts but it was worth every penny. i havent driven it yet just got it running yesterday. I still have to rig up a shifter cable and bolt up my exhaust. i did a extreme budget built. Headers- flowtech ford shortys with a lsx flange welded on, used a wiring harness out of a truck along with the computer and fuse block. ( the ford fuse block is still in the car for radio wipers etc etc, but the chevy block runs the motor, PM me with any questions i could most likely answer them

well from my thinking there should be no reason the abs shouldnt still work but if it dosent have abs it wont hurt my feelings as long as the brakes still work. You gotta understang i did an extreme budget build

I built an 02 turbo 6.0l theres a thread here somewhere and I currently have a 95 built ls6 mustang with spray. The ABS works as it did before in both cars. In the 02 gt i just relocated the pump to the inner fender well. I dont believe the ABS gets anything from the ECU theres a black box under the drivers kick panel that is for ABS if I remember correctly. You shouldnt have to touch the brakes at all.
