Default A body LS1 hooker headers

I have a 67 chevelle I'm putting an ls1/t56. I just finished modifying the trans crossmember and now the header on the passenger side is hitting the floorboard. The driver side fits with about 1 inch of clearance. Why would one side fit and not the other? Can I hammer up the passenger floorboard? What's the best solution? I have two energy suspension shims on each motor mount. Can I remove the shims on one side or do I have to do it on both?

make sure the engine/tranny is level. I have about 3/4" clearance on mine but I made my own motor mounts

Yeah, that seems odd. You could hammer the floorboard, but before I did that I'd do like mentioned above and check to see if your engine is level. If it is, pull the headers off and compare them to see if they are noticeably different heights.

I measured it out and it looks to be even. Could it be due to something like bad/broken down body mounts?

good possibility if you havent replaced them, measure from the floor pan to the floor, make sure the vehicle is level first

So I measured everything and it looks like it's all square. I called summit and talked to a tech guy who said that all the headers for the chevelles and camaros have the driver side hang 1/2" lower than the passenger side. He said this is how the headers are built. Is this right? It sounds ridiculous!

maybe, I dont know why they would do that tho. My drivers side is a little lower than my pass, but not enough to worry about
