4L60E or 80E in a 66 Chevelle?
Looking at putting a 6.0 in my Chevelle and am wondering what issues there are with putting a 60E or 80E in it as far as clearance or anything else that might sway me towards one or the other. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

That doesn't seem correct.
I know the trans tunnel has to be clearanced with a BFH for the 700r4/$l60 series servo on the front passenger side.
As to the 4L80e it is the same size as the TH400 that was standard in some 66s but a little longer. So the only place that I could think of on the 66 that might need to be clearanced would be 3-4inches where the floorboard necks down just past your current transmission.
My 4l80e seems to fit fine but I have not fine tuned the drive line angle yet to be 100% sure.
All that would be out the window if your car is slammed and you want to mount the trans and motor 4 or 5 inches higher to help angles

That is almost certainly why he had to clearance his tunnel to get the driveline angle correct.
So it sounds like the clearancing required will be based on what motor mounts you use.

Thats correct, I did use the BRP mounts. And, it does sit the motor high. But it doesn't miss the tie rods by much. My engine sit in fine untill I put the drive shaft in and the angle was too low. So, I had to raise the rear and inch. Even with it sitting before the raise, it was hitting the tunnel causing a vibration.

6.0 /4l80 in my 67. no clearencing except by one of the electrical plugs on the drivers side.my engine is mounted low as possible.uses S&P style plates and a f body modified pan. JOHN

I have a 4L70 in my 66. I had to split the tunnel to get engine angle correct. And used a BFH for the servo area. Not too bad. Added about 2" strip down the middle where I split it. My car has been lowered so that may not be an issue for you.

I have a 4L60E in my 69 ragtop. The tunnel is not a problem , but the crossmember sat the mount too high and screwed the driveshaft angle. Remember this is a ragtop and the crossmember is a bit different. I also was focused on keeping the engine as low as possible in the chassis for hood clearance. A lot is gouing to ride on engine placement. You might also want to think about your exhaust headers at the same time. A few degrees angle change makes a big difference in how much collector clearance you will have at the crossmember.
