Default Stock chevelle radiator

I am continuing my LS swap on my 66 El Camino. I am wondering if I can use my radiator? Radiator is about two years old and would like to be able to keep it.

Yes, No reason that you cannot. One are of concern is the Upper Radiator hose size of radiator. It is usually larger that the Gen III/IV water pump inlet size. Not a hard thing to fix.. just need to find a hose that has both of the correct size or a reducer.

But your question should be, does the Radaitor have the capacity to meet the engines cooling requirement.. If your engine is stock or mid build. It should be ok. If Supercharged or Turbo or a lot of Compression.. might be another story..

Thanks for the info, it's a 6.0 with a mild cam. Capacity I believed was okay, it cooled my 383 Stroker perfectly. I wasn't sure if the flow of the radiator is the same. Thanks

Also, will a stock radiator accept the red coolant that the LS uses?

You would have to flush the Radiator complete as the Dexcool is not compatiable with the Green stuff.. If you mix the two. you well get a bad mess !

I elected to flush the engine out well.. then use Green/Blue stuff.

I am using Speed-tech ATS motor mount plates, have not chosen headers yet.
