Correct. Must meet certain criteria to run at the the track. Supposedly some sanctioning bodies will allow for SS braided line, but not straight rubber. You can get all the rules here for NHRA:

Good luck!

I don't know what keeps more people from doing what i did, but for me it was easy to use and worked flawlessly. Take a look into a dorman 800-300 fuel line repair kit, and pick up 5/16 and 3/8 nylon fuel line. You can package it all together from Amazon for around $225. The fuel line kit has enough connections to put the system together and have quick disconnect fittings front to back. That and the nylon line is pretty well impervious to the elements and any fuel you wish to use. Only drawback I can think of is that you can't bend tight radius turns with it, but plan your system out and you'll have nothing you can't work around.

There are a few different companies that have the fittings that work with our fuel rails. Any one will do, and then you just mate that fitting with the hose end fitting. Boom

Most rubber push lok hose is NHRA approved. Like the parker stuff. Its fairly cheap as well. $3/foot in most cases. Hose ends are about 5 bucks or so. If you're not running a return line, you can get a 15 foot section of push lok hose for $50 and 2 hose ends for $5 each and be pretty much done for $60.

I'll have to find the list. It's on the NHRA website. The stuff from the big manufacturers like Fragola, russels, aeroquip, and even the summit twistlok stuff is NHRA approved. Some tracks might see the rubber and complain, so a print out of the sheet is nice to keep. It's actually synthetic rubber over a woven braid, And not a traditional rubber line.

Here is the NHRA approved list.

The Fragola stuff is cheap. Blue or Black. 20 feet of -6 AN for $55.

Hose ends are fairly cheap as well. $4/each for -6 AN.

The Summit brand stuff is also an approved hose and 15-20% cheaper than the Fragola hose in most cases.
Light, cheap, flexible, and NHRA approved.
As for the other Parker stuff, there is a parker store pretty local to me. I found it on the parker website. Its a heavy equipment supply store that sells it for equipment use. They have literally everything there, fittings and all. The hose is a lot cheaper through them but I don't think its TECHNICALLY the NHRA approved stuff, although you could probably slip it through tech since the Fragola stuff says Parker in the exempt list, and the hose says Parker on it as well.
