Default 71 Nova LS2 F1A

As many do, i've been lurking around here and other forums collecting knowledge on my swap. I thought now i would show a little. It's a Cali 71 Nova. It's getting a LS2(402), Bradco 400turbo with brake, DSE mini-tub, F1A Procharger(thanks to Bob@Brutespeed), complete frontend rebuild, Vintage Air(thanks to DSE), Calvert split monos, cal-tracks with sliders and MT drag radials. So far i've done all the work with the help of some good friends.

Front leaf spring hangers i made with a couple mounting positions.

This is showing the mount inside. I did this to correct the IC

Well welcome to the party. It looks like you're off to a good start. Anything in the engine. .?

So, how did a Calif car end up over there?

Keep the posts coming.

It's getting a 402 rotating assy. when we break the car back down. A Brutespeed camshaft and an AIS water meth kit to keep it in check.

A guy in Ohio had it and when the economy dump he was a big pontiac guy, i mean big he said the lone chevy had to go. He had it shipped from Cali. off ebay and gave me all the ebay stuff from his sale when i bought it for proof.

I've got more pics i'll post later.

Forgot to mention it's getting 06 GTO seats as we speak also and a Ricks Stealth tank.

Default Just a little more

I got a little more done. The LS6 intake is sitting on it. The PSI harness is laid out and through the firewall. The Vintage air evap is mounted and bulkhead fitting is in the delete plate. Got the radiator thursday and sitting in. Found both rad. hoses on the first try. That's the only thing that has went quick and easy. LOL Me and another guy on yellowbullet finally figured the power steering pulley clearance and pump issue. Just need to let Procharger know now.

What did you come up with?

Oldgoat, i'm west of elizabethtown about 32miles.

Cherryreds, yes it is the stock sub.

1989GTA, 2 different ways. The best is probably running the CTS-V pump with the corvette pulley. The other is a discontinued caddy pulley on the vette pump and machine the bracket mount spacers off to get the right belt alignment. What did you come up with? Procharger said they never heard of an issue.

Not alot to show, but it's bit by bit getting closer.

Got my tilt column from GMTILT and automatic brake pedal in. We also got the DBW gas pedal fabbed up. It's not in the picture. Paint is drying. LOL

Worked on the vintage air hoses and a mounting plate for the PCM and fuseblock. It's getting more and then some paint.

Got the PSC P/S reservoir mounted. Still have a lower mount for it to make, but it's good enough to get to make the lines up.

Is that setup based on corvette or f-body front-end accessories? I'd like to see a setup with the truck stuff. And where is the AC compressor going?

Those seats look like corbeau gts ii's. If so, you'll like those...

Edit: how did those DSE tubs go in? That's likely my next mod after I finish the 3-pt seat belts.

The engine was out of a TBSS, but with the Procharger kit, they supplied all the accessory brackets. I never tried to bolt the stock ones up to see how they would or wouldn't fit. Compressor is going low pass. side. I'm getting ready to notch the subframe for it as soon as i finish a few other things.

I wish, they are GTO's.

If you have spot weld bit (a good one) it's not bad. Really it's all about the tools you have or don't as to how hard it is. I spent 2 days a piece on them.

What compressor do you plan to use and how do you intend to mount it? I have tried a number of configurations on my Nova and notched the frame. Take a look at my build thread if you need info.

I haven't even looked at the compressor really yet. It's the 508 sanden that came with it if i'm thinking correct.

What did you do and what page of your build? I've looked at it but don't remember right off.

Well, I bought the Alan grove low a/c mount set-up, really nice pieces. Problem now is, the Dirty Dingo sliders are bottomed out in the full forward position, which is close to the stock engine position and it needs to go about .750" more. I cut the subframe notch out this morning to find this. One step forward and two back as usual. So i'm going to pull the sliders drill 3 new holes in the slider slots to allow for more forward travel and go at it again.

Done for the day on that part. I'm waiting on the Magnafuel 4303 kit to come in, but i've made a tank template and going to get it lined out and get Ricks started on it. Sorry no pics. LOL

Good day
Allen
