GOLDMEMBER--'61 Chevy Nomad wagon-cam'd 6.0L/air ride/etc
The car: GOLDMEMBER.....a 1961 Chevy Nomad wagon that My buddy John Dodson and I are putting a cammed '07 LQ4 6.0 liter/4L60E in, along with air ride, hydroboost brakes with 12" drilled/slotted rotors and Wilwood dual piston calipers, and completely custom built rear suspension.
Here's a couple of in progress pictures of the wagon, and some of the fabrication work. Sorry for some of the blurry pictures.
I post as CRASH on some of the other message boards I frequent so some of you guys here may know me. Anyway, thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide !

Thanks guys. What do you want to see more pictures of ? The interior is completely gutted right now. I have to do some floor pan work and then it will be getting all new interior built for it.

Thanks !
Thanks ! What year hardtop ?
Thanks ! I REALLY want to keep it original paint. I'm actually looking for a nice set of Fawn Beige Metallic '61 BelAir or Impala front fenders to put on my car so I don't have to paint it. I have some ideas on doing some gold metal flake on the wagon similar to this car, but more of a brown-ish gold. This is my buddy's '55 Chevy that I laid all the scallops out on and he sprayed them with silver base, silver flake, then gold radiance candy. I then outlined the scallops in black. This car will be getting an LQ4 swapped in it very soon as well.

Nice car. Your running hydroboost brakes? Where'd you get the unit from? I was thinking of going that way. I'mjust swapping over my gm dual master cylinder to a wilwood one.

I'm looking for a pair of fawn fenders for my car. I want to keep the original paint but my fenders are a little banged up and rusty.
Yeah, I actually got the hydroboost from a 90's Astro van at the local junk yard for $25. My dad made the hydroboost bracket on the Bridgeport mill at the shop. The master cylinder I used is a new '77 Corvette unit for power brakes.
Here's the hydroboost bracket and a couple new engine pictures from a couple nights ago.

Nothing particularly special about it. I could get the dimensions and post them next time I'm at the shop. What are you planning on putting it in ? I noticed after we got the bracket done that I should have notched the bottom corners of the bracket because it hits the plate that goes around the steering shaft on my '61 and the bracket could stand to be just a hair narrower because it was a bit tight getting it past the windshield wiper motor.

Im working on a 61 bubbletop bel air. have and ls1 that i wanted to put in it. also airbag set up and big wheels simillar to your stance. did ou notch the frame in the rear? how did you get it that low. i see your not running inner fenders in the front.
would appreciate some dimensions for the hydroboost bracket. i was thinking of going the same route astro van booster ect. a lot cheaper than buying a kit.
