FIRST SWAP! LQ4 with whipple SC
Need advice/input/help.... starting my first swap in a 1972 Blazer. after talking with a few buddies seems I will be using an LQ4 bottom end with stock internals, LS3 CNC ported heads, Comp cam and LS3 intake with whipple SC (whipple is older and doesnt replace the intake manifold). I plan on building a 4L80e for trans and still have no clue on best t-case. Any advice or ideas greatly appreciated. budget is 10K on drivetrain with a lil room to fudge. hoping for 700hp?

Hadnt decided on pump fuel or e85..... Pros/cons I know e85 is sometimes hard to find but this won't be a daily driver... What fuel system do you recommend? Stick tank? Aftermarket? I haven't figured that out yet!

You can push it harder on E85 vs pump gas, but if getting it is a pain I would stick with pump. Give lonnie a call and talk to him about your plans and he can recomend / sell you any thing you need. I have his dual intank pump set up and it has been flawlell, customer service is top notch too. http://www.lonniesperformance.com/

So bottom end is at machine shop, cam, lifters, and heads ordered.... Anyone know if the rocker assemblies from the lq4 will work on the ls3 heads?? Also picked up an np205 tcase and advanced adapters is making me adapter to bolt to 4l80e. This project is slowly coming to life!!

I second the turbo idea. I'm not sure what whipple that is but I didn't know they made a side mount one that will support 700 HP. Either way, I want to see it so keep us updated!

The whipple is an older unit that I believe is 2.3 lpm. It's for Chevy truck before they went to intake replacement unit. Not ideal but the price was right. E85 may be a serious decision here as well.....

Ordering heads this week and cant find much info on rocker assemblies. Found a few threads that say ls3 heads use "offset" rockers which im assuming are different than sock 317 heads. Can someone confirm this? would be much appreciated.
Looks like half rockers off 317 will work and other half are offset?

Yes, intakes only are off-set.
As for the T-case...a 205 is almost indestructible(gear driven)....next would be a 208 (chain driven), and/ or you could go to a "newer" style case ?

If you start a Photobucket account (it's free) you can post your pictures there and then put them here in your build thread without people having to click the little thumbnails. Pictures will be a lot bigger too.
Just start a Photobucket account, upload pics there, then click one, copy the image URL, come to this thread, click the little yellow icon in the message box, paste the URL and that's it.
