Car got moved back to my house (at least temporarily) so I can do some work on it there.

Had another "what's in the box" today and that's when the LSX 427 from Texas Speed arrived. Cant wait to go break this crate open and take a look at it! I WILL be getting more pics soon (not sure I'll get by there today).

Also had my Holley stuff delivered. Waiting on getting the ECU (Dominator is back ordered right now).

So I went to visit the motor and pick up a few things from GAP to work on over the weekend. Unfortunately didn't make it very far with the car work as things always got in the way.

Took the cover off and snapped some photos of the wrapped up LSX427!

I got the corner pickups and set the pumps in the Ricks Tank and it looks good. Planning out the fuel system and what pieces I need to buy.

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-o4z8umk.jpg

I did run into a snag, and that was the CTS-V module needs to be modified for the corner pickups. I hadn't seen this previously (it was available online, just hadn't looked), as I assumed it would fit.
My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-uai6ooq.jpg

The fix is relatively simple and I may try to come up with something else in order to make it retain stock module for easier swap out in the future.

Beyond that I made a little time this weekend to go grab a few craft brews at Jester King.
My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-cy3noom.jpg

Also made a trip to see the new addition to the family. She's a mini aussie and her name is Emma. She's 4 weeks old currently so still a bit of time before we get to bring her home. She's second from the left (blue merle).

Nice, it wasn't too bad Sunday. It was crowded but wasn't too hard to get some beverages. Loaded the Raptor down with bottles to head back to Houston. Hooking up one of my friends (Powered by Satan).

Thanks, took a long time to get it to this point. Hoping to get some stuff accomplished this week. We'll see how much actually happens. Poor planning on my part has me waiting on a few small items.

Got the remaining engine pieces ordered and picked out a cam (with KP's help).

Going with a Custom grind 247/251 .624/.624 on a 118 for the setup. Little bigger than I originally intended but that's how this project has been

Hoping to get engine/transmission and everything buttoned up this weekend powertrain wise (out of the car). Maybe put it in the car soon after! Still waiting to hear on my valve covers from Precision Metalcraft. Engine will look GOOD!

Thanks.

Wish I had progress to post but been down the last week sick. Hoping to get a little accomplished this weekend. Cam didn't show so motor build will have to wait. It's getting close though.

Cam was sent but was ground wrong by comp (on a 114+2 instead of a 118)...They ground a new cam yesterday and was overnighted so hoping it's here today! I'll work with GAP to get the engine assembled as I will now have all the parts.

In other news, I went to working on the car finally in my garage. Ran into a few issues with the painter's assembly that caused some headache. He ran up the stainless hardware with no antiseize. Bolts on the core support were locked up and the support wasn't even tight!

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-fz2r2gx.jpg

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-srctpic.jpg

I think it's safe to say that bolt isn't "tight." But here's another shot for good measure.

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-zr3e52k.jpg

It however was most definitely locked up!

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-lrjrrep.jpg

I got one out then broke the socket on the second one. You can tell by this bolt that the hardware was installed dry and had galling.

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-a6rqr1i.jpg

Oh well, the show must go on! Got some bigger tools and had a friend come over to extract the last bolt holding my old core support in.

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-8f6eykl.jpg

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-jma7lee.jpg

Success! (Dont mind that it's a little dusty, it's being cleaned up)

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-d1mflvl.jpg

Now time to fit test the new AutoRad piece!

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-eqzqgmx.jpg

Yep, that looks pretty good.

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-wbeszrj.jpg

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-y4rf8sf.jpg

Intercoolers had some interference but I should have seen that coming. Pass-through pipes were left long intentionally to give us flexibility. Just a little TOO long to get them mounted up. That's an easy fix.

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-brvbgbp.jpg

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-lbuybj9.jpg

They will look good once they're on there!

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-37ugwjc.jpg

I plan to put the front end back on (temporarily) tonight and take some pics of the pieces raw behind the grille. Trying to make my mind whether to coat or leave it bare. To be honest, I'm liking this look right now.

It'll be a few days before I cut those pipes and put the IC on, so front will be coming back off, but that's ok. This was just a mock up test anyway

Thanks, I hope it turns out well. Trying to get motivated for garage time in the heat when adult beverages reside inside in the a/c has been a challenge.

Got started on the motor. Unfortunately I had expected the TSP shortblock to come with head dowel pins. So heads will be going on Monday after I get dowels from a dealer...

Here are some progress pics:
My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-kcxpvpf.jpg

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-bqfd5pg.jpg

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-6j8ot7z.jpg

My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-c2aeyjy.jpg

That was the end of engine work. Got the cam installed, front end of the motor on, and waiting on dowel pins. I have everything I need to (aside from those pins) to get it all together.

Went to put the front end on the car and ran into a few problems. Test fitting everything with the core support so some small issues were expected.
This is how it started.
Attachment 725270

Then came the front sheet metal (got a few chips on the way). I think there is a problem with paint adhesion on this car. Was very gentle with everything and in some areas the paint just flakes.
My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-r76vneh.jpg

DAMN YOU CHIP!
My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-acwn7u4.jpg

Beyond that there was a more serious issue. I put it all together and put the front spoiler on for the first time and noticed the lower valence has issues the painter was SUPPOSED to fix and didnt.
My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-hyattbd.jpg

Keep in mind spoiler is new. valence is dented at the mounting point and above the spoiler (just below the fog light) about the entire length of the valence. I will be getting a new one and getting it painted to match the car. Considering aftermarket options now to help get air moving into the intercooler/radiator area.

Drivers side (how it's supposed to look)
My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-jbnok43.jpg

Passenger side (obviously damaged valence)
My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-mfyaag5.jpg

That's where we're at today. Front being on has me wanting to leave the core support raw aluminum. I think (at the advice of friends) I'll paint the back side black to match the engine bay, but I'll leave the front raw aluminum.

Its never ending!
