Default What's It Worth?

Got a lead on a 5.3 out of an 2000 suburban. It has 120k on it comes with computer and wiring harness for $700. Is it worth it? Ive been looking for a ls for awhile now and the swaps are kinda scarce around here, motors are too for that matter. Any help would be appreciated in helping me convience my wife for a c10 daily driver swap. Thanks

Sounds like a pretty good deal if it runs. I bought a 160k 5.3 with harness and computer for $750 and I had to pay shipping too.

Default 5.3 price

Where is "around here"? Closest junkyard to me is about 90 miles but I went there (rather than call) to see what they had and talk face to face. Do lots of homework before spending the cash.

Even way out here that is on the high side for a 5.3,seems everyone around here only wants 6.0 engines.

I live in kentucky and we have plenty of junk yards but they seem to think alot of anything they've got. Thanks for the input guys. I may just offer them 600 to see what they say. If they dont take it i know where im at.

I just bought a complete 70k mile 5.3 with 4wd 4L60E, E38 PCM, TCM, all harnesses, throttle pedal, MAF, you name it and it came with it for $900. I had to drive 4.5 hours to get it, but for the same setup in 6.0 would have cost me at least double.

He only had one otherwise I would have. I just watched craigslist and I was in no rush to purchase. When a deal came up I jumped on it. Pretty much the way I'm building the whole car. He was originally asking $1200. Worth the 4.5 hour drive.
