New build thread. Project "HellCat". Putting a turbocharged 4.8 into a '67 cougar and making it all wheel drive.

Any input will be appreciated. This car is mainly a toy used for autocross and date night.

Using 1994 bravada transfer case and front drive. 4.8 from 2001 Silverado. Will need help with turbo selection. Will prob use about a 3k stall in a 4l80e or th400.

Good luck with the build. I'm building a cougar too, but for different purposes. Liooking forward to what you come up with!

This guy did that to a Datsun Z, but I can't remember if he used an LS or SBC.

That Datsun is awesome. I'll work on getting my base pics up asap. I'm new to this.

Hoping to get a chance to start stripping the factory cougar suspension on Tuesday. Somebody is wanting the spindles and disc brakes.

Are you going to move the engine back so that thou have room for the transfer case?

I'll be mounting the engine so the transfer case doesn't end up where the seat is. I think it will be right in front of seat. I'll be cutting firewall out and making a flat one for more clearance.

Andrew, nice feature article on your GTO. My diesel bronco was just featured in Dec '14 edition of Four Wheeler magazine. Its always cool to be recognized in print.

I'll be flipping the exhaust manifolds for the turbo mounting. I'll either exit the exhaust out in front of the right front tire or down right side of car. That way I won't have to bother with the front driveshaft being in the way.
