Default 1964 GTO project

Hey gang I picked up another project car this weekend. It's a 1964 GTO that is complete minus the rear seat. The body on this car is in fantastic condition. I need to finish up my research on it, but from what I've looked up so far the motor is not numbers matching and may cost more to restore then doing the good ol LS swap. I'll keep you posted.

Here's a couple pics!

VFN makes a fiberglass hood. Glastek probably does as well.

I've got the original steel GTO hood as well. Only thing this car is missing is a rear seat.

Awesome find! Back in the late 70's I had two '65 GTO's and a '69 GTO. It's getting harder and harder to find them, congratulations! Bob

You better do this good if you are going to swap out a tri-power Pontiac motor.

He said the engine isn't original, and besides, that Pontiac engine is a turd...LOL

That's a cool car! I don't care for the relocated front wheel openings though. He should have altered the 06 chassis to fit the 64 body rather then alter the body.

Hey gang, Just an update. I did decide to stick with the poncho 389 tripower on this build. Car is nearing completion now. Just thought I'd share that I didn't LS this one.

Well gang I completed the GTO in December and had her sold last week while all the buyers were here in town for the Barret Jackson auctions. Time to move on to something else.

You did a very nice job of restoring the Poncho.
