Get a gas tank for a Buick GN or a 86 or 87 Monte Carlo with the 4.3 F.I. engine.

I can't remember if the Buick & Monte filler necks are the same, so just go for the Turbo Buick version.

What's the importance of baffling in an EFI tank?

The baffling keeps fuel around your fuel pump, keeping it from starving out during cornering or hard acceleration.

I went with an external walbro 255 inline pump and had a lower sump welded on the bottom of my factory fuel tank. No issues as of yet and I have around 2500 miles on my set up.

I have used a regular non-baffled tank for fuel injected engines. However I have wanted to switch to a baffled tank, or would rather use some of that hydramat that Holley sells & use it in regular tank. It will work much better than the baffled tank.

Everybody uses the spectra tank for turbo regals. The only problem is it fills slow. There is a mod for this that is an easy fix as long as you do it before installation.

The tank most sell for the G body is the Spectra GM307C tank.
I've bought 2 of them.
Here's Bob's Ebag link....

MAKE SURE the pt # is a C, NOT an A. A is for n/a cars.

Factory fuel bucket for the engine you are using solves a lot of your issues. No tank comes from the factory with baffling....not the 4th gen fbody..5th gen Camaro..C4..C5...C6 vettes. The fuel bucket solves that problem. Your only issue would be finding a way to retrofit a fuel bucket to the g body tank. Vetteworks is one way... A welder and metal fabrication is another way. Things get simple if you are willing to cut a hole in your trunk so bucket and lines don't hit trunk.

GM engineered fuel buckets for the LS1, LS2, etc. no guess work..only issue is if you need more fuel, but a simple relatively stock build will work fine with OEM GM fuel buckets. The fuel buckets have the pump, fuel pressure regulator and fuel level float. If you choose to use the float, when you buy your fuel gauge, you choose the proper ohm unit for your swap. It's quiet and reliable. Just check out any high mileage 4th gen f body....

That's just not true, the factory turbo regal tank and the spectra turbo replacement tank are both baffled

Specs can, and often do, change over the years.

I don't know why this needs to be argued over, but the factory tanks don't change, the specta tank have been available for about 15 years at least with baffles and there were replacement turbo regal tanks available with baffles even before those tanks were available.
