Anyone use a CTS-V T56 for their 6 speed swap?

Anyone use a CTS-V T56 for their 6 speed swap?
I know everyone will say find an fbody t56.
I know the shifter sits further back more vs an fbody t56.
I know the shifter on the V isn't the best until you upgrade it.
I know the gear ratios aren't the same vs an fbody also. V has lower first gear and a not so high overdrive ratio vs an fbody which is more idea they say....
So back to my question, has anyone used a V t56 for their 6 speed swap?
Any concerns or issues or anything you do not or did not like about it?
I have an extra V t56 and debating on putting it to use in a swap.
Or if anyone has any pros or cons about using one post up...
No hard feelings here or there...

Best bet since it's a mn12 t56 is to get a f-body/gto tail shaft housing and a gto mn12 main shaft and convert it so that you have a splined output instead of the tri flange. Depending on your seat or seats you can buy a Core-shifter that drops right in the front shifter location or if you've got bucket seats you will probably want to use the rear shifter location. I Have a CTS-V Mn12 t56 And did just that. I can use either shifter location. As is the cts-v shifter location is way to far back for a chevy II. Mine is in a first gen chevy II which is the same as a second gen.

I had a guy local to me do it for $400 labor and if my memory is right about $40 to have a machinist grind the shift rail. I had called a couple of the big name t56 gurus about doing this and they both told me sure we can do it but you'll lose your reverse lock out solenoid since it's in the tail shaft housing and the cts-v shift rail wouldn't work. My guy said he'd not do it without having a reverse lock out solenoid and he said it can be easily done by grinding(rail is to hard to simply cut on a lathe) the rail. Now I can run a shifter in either the front or rear location. Pretty versatile trans now. Not sure if you have someone local to you that is good on these trans but if you'd like you can pm me if you'd like my guys name and number.

Chuck I bought a new gto main shaft from gm for less than $200 and I picked up a used f-body/gto tail shaft housing on Herr in the classifieds for $100. I got the cts-v trans for a song so in the end I have a freshly gone through trans for less than $1500. Most people want that for a used unknown condition trans.

I bought the V t56 as a back up for my daily V incase anything ever happens.
Well since it's bought and paid for might as well use it I'm thinking.
If not I have 3 other fbody t56 to use, it was just incase to see who all else has used one.
I know it's a rare tranny to find and rarer to use in a swap, but it's do doable.
Maybe I jakd myself but I don't mind having a backup for my V and maybe using it one day for a swap.
