Default LSx into 84 C4 Corvette

Hey guys,
I’m sure y’all have seen people in here doing this swap or heard people talking about but I have some questions for those guys and I can’t find any information through the search.
I have an ‘84 C4 Corvette with an L98 SBC, I’m ready to start the process of putting an LSx in it. I’m definitely on a budget so I’m looking for an iron block to begin with and I’m going to use an automatic tranny. I have a 700r4 in the car now but will probably just go with the 4L60e since it typically comes with iron blocks.
My first question is: I have seen these articles about Speedhound motor mounts but they seem to be out of business. So I was wondering if anybody had recommendations on motor mounts. I found some from vetteworks.com
I’d like to find the best mounts for the job as I’m sure multiple companies make different ones and they could effect the positioning of the engine.
Also, any help would be greatly appreciated or any deals on parts.

Thanks guys

check out corvetteforum. as for mounts just get cheap adapters so you can reuse the stock mounts. Finishing up a ls swap in my '88.

I made a thread on corvetteforum. Do a search-there arent many who have followed thru with the swap in a c4 but its pretty straight forward. '84 Vette came with a L83 btw so unless someone swapped in an L98 it would be the crossfire 350.

You are correct, it is a Crossfire and therefore an L83.

Can you post a link to that thread? I can’t seem to find it on CF

on my 87 c4 i tried a cheap aluminum 4 position plate mount and a Melrose mount plates. I liked the melrose mounts better. Also the melrose headers pretty much fell in place.

I have a 85 vette with a 2005 LQ9 and 700R, works pretty good. I've used pretty much ton of the stock 85 vette parts.

Mine set-up drive by cable. I use shorty headers, aftermarket intake, ev6 42lb injectors.

Good lord. The '84 corvette...........

That crossfire made that car a pig. I detailed one for my wife's grandfather who bought it at an auction. The LCD screen was no longer working, the fans were ghetto rigged from PO and then there's the crossfire. I loved driving the car, it rode on rails, but I couldn't understand what made it so slow lol

Although, I was able to fix the LCD screen by putting new polarized film on the front and all the sudden the gauges showed up bright as new! But I couldn't imagine that an LS would be too terribly hard to swap in. Good Luck and take lots of pictures!

I have a 4.8 in my 89. Swap was easy enough but I didn't keep A/C.
Even converting to a TH400 wasn't terrible.
