S10 LS Hedman 45900 Headers Before I purchased these headers I scoured the web looking for some actual info for how the headers look and how they fit. I wasn’t able to find anything so I pulled the trigger and ordered a set. As expected, the passenger side when right in with the exception of the ear on my 4l80e, I had cut it off before but had to take a little more off. The drivers side took some rubber mount pursuasion and a couple of little dents to give plenty of clearance and of course the transmission ear. Here are some pictures.

I tried to find install pics of these bad had no luck and it’s hard dropping that much money in the hopes of it going right. If you go through with it and need any help let me know, I’ve used the trial and error method with a lot of parts to see what works best.

Having gone through two different sets of headers that supposedly work seeing this make me feel some relief ordering a set tonight from Summit. I see your steering shaft appears to be a Jeep shaft? Could you help me out with that? My truck is a 97 and a lot of the info on this swap is for first gen. My set up is a 97 S10 SS is an LS1 with a set of Milled 317 heads and LS6 cam I had laying around, 4L60e built to 65 with a Trailblazer converter. Is my daily driver so should be fun.

Yeah, that should be pretty fun. All I did was get a steering shaft from a grand Cherokee that has the same oval shape (two flat sides and rounded ends) on the shaft. When you are looking keep in mind that you will encounter three styles, a square shaft one and two oval style ones. One of the oval ones will be clocked a different way. Once you find the right one then lay it next to the stock shaft and take a mental note of how much to cut off and pull the sleeve off of the stock shaft and weld it on the Jeep one. I didn’t take any pictures when I was making it but it will all make sense once you start looking at it.

Well chalk up set number three that will not fit without majorly clearance pipes with a hammer. I am using Transdapt/Hedman swap mounts as well. This is my at least 7th LS swap into something it does not belong in and this one is winning! Getting ready to throw in the towel and sell it all! Thinking they worked so well on the Blazer due to the taller engine stands and taller body mounts.

Both upper control arms, driver's engine mount even with ears cut off and drivers floor pan. Engine is already as far forward as it can go oil pan to cross member clearance would be the next hurdle if I tried to move it forward. Would have to dent number one tube in at least 1/3" and approximately the same for cylinders three and cylinder six. Another issue I will run into is if I raise the engine driver side floor board will need to "massaged" with a hammer by at least a 1/4"

I had to massage the tube a good amount for the drivers engine mount but I have 2door 2wd Blazer specific mounts so I figured it was that. As for hitting the floor, have you tried adjusting the transmission down in the back? Mine is pointed down from the factory and I just made up for it with the pinion angle and have no vibrations, not even on the track with nitrous.

You are ABSOLUTELY correct about that. I thought about that later. Hope that didn't come off as snide, because that certainly wasn't my intention. There are just some guys who don't know there are first and second gen S10's. They aren't everyone's cup of tea.
