BRP motor mounts won't fit Hello all,Hello all,
I bought the BRP motor mounts (1978 Caprice) and they don't line up with the frame holes. Two of the bolts will fit, but the 3rd will not. If placement and space is so limited with these swaps, I'm not sure which two bolt holes to use and which one to drill because that changes where the motor mount sits and I'm afraid it may cause issues.Has anyone had this issue?Thanks,

if they don't have a clear answer, you could always bolt the mounts to the block and set the engine in and see where the bolt holes want to line up and then drill out the third...pain in the *** for what they charge for those.
if they don't work out, i had good luck using dirty dingo sliders on my buddy's 75 nova that uses similar clamshell engine mounts bolted to the frame. gives you the ability to adjust the fore aft location of the motor to put it right where you want it.

I called them and that was their recommendation. For the amount of money these pieces cost, my expectations were that this would not be necessary. I've also contacted them about the instructions, which, even considering that I'm a visual person, are very lacking. The kit was advertised as having the driveline angle set correctly. I hope that is the case. That is the main reason I went with this kit, so if that does not work out I believe that's where my line will be to want my money back.

Make your decision with this in mind - once you’ve altered them or beat them up with ins/outs during fab, they won’t take them back, as I’m sure you know. Missing/inadequate instructions + they don’t fit, for me = send ‘em back. I’d wonder how well they’re engineered.

I tried them every which way they would go. They are definitely in the right place. My father and father-in-law eventually also tried them. I called the company and they said to drill out the holes. If you look in the pictures on my build thread you can see that after several weeks of being installed the heads of the bolts they sent to hold the plates to the block are already badly rusted. My entire build is based upon the alignment of those mounts, so I can't go back and put different mounts on without a lot of time and effort. I really, really wish I'd gone with a different product.

I was afraid of that. I figured eventually I'll replace this BRP junk, I just need to get the car running for now. I wonder how much shift in position I would have in switching mounts. Some mounts allow you to keep the clamshell mounts and have a lot of adjustment.
