Default 64 abody exhaust exit question

How is everyone running their exhaust out the back of their early abody-- Chevelle, cutlass etc.

Side exit behind tires? Round tips out the back? Oval tips like often used on later year abodys?

Pics would be wonderful!

This is more a matter of personal taste; where do YOU think it would look/sound best?

I am usually a side exit/behind the wheel guy, and have that on my V8 Nissan Hardbody truck.. On my 67 Chevelle, I used the Hooker/Blackheart exhaust kit, and it has a back exit, and tucks nicely, I like it, and would definitely recommend it to any one. I am in the process of putting side pipes on my street Chevy LUV, so I guess I covered all the bases, lol...

60's a bodies should always exit straight out the back imho. less chance of sucking CO back in thru the leaky *** trunks they always have

That's my issue, I'm not sure what looks good on these cars. Everyone I ever see has it dumped near the rear axle.

I'll have cutouts on it, so I want the exhaust routed all the way back to keep it quieter when cutouts are closed.

Haha, only thing you're missing is fender exits! Any pics from the rear of the Chevelle??

Not too concerned with it leaking back in. Trunk has been freshly sealed and am making a barrier to seal up behind the rear seat. Any pics of good looking exhaust out the back?

Thanks guys for the help!

Nice looking ride! Also, I'm a bit envious about the size of your garage haha.

Thanks for the pic. See another option to the bumper then turn downs

Looks great 1964SS! Doesn't look like you'll be having traction issues with meats like that on the back. Thanks for sharing.
