Default 4TH Gen Camaro Swap

So im new to this site so bare with me. I bought a v6 98 camaro off my grandfather who flipped cars alot. he has two built novas and isnt doing to well these days. hes always wanted to see the car go fast (makes 250hp all motor over the stock 180) but i cant get it any faster without boost, and i want to go another route. Im in college so money isnt the most plentiful but i was looking into going to a pull a part, and getting like a 5.3 or something with a full ecu out of a tahoe or any biggger chevy vehicle and rebuilding/building it. Now to my question of, whats the compatible of swapping something like that? also would the ecu work with the body harness? i realllllly dont want to boost my v6, because its extremely expensive and doesnt make much power. i already have a rebuilt 4l60e and 3.73 gears. so what would be the best option for a motor swaps in terms of me not having to fabricate alot of stuff. Also would i need a new k member or anything besides motor mounts to physically get the motor into the car? Thank you to everyone for any input and please dont just say sell for a v8 car. theres way too much sentimental value in this car and its completely restored exterior/interior/suspension.

Mounts are easy:

You will obviously also need a 4th gen f-body oil pan. Those are available new or used. I am not 100% sure, but I think the fact that you have a 98 makes things easier. (I think...) in 98 the gauge cluster wasn't fed off the ECU, but used conventional sensors off the engine. Someone else can confirm or deny this.

Thats all there is too it? i have upgraded brakes and suspension with the firm ride rack and pinion that fits both the ls1 and v6 cars. If thats all thats needed i should have no issue getting this done in 2-3months or less.

Much of that information is outdated. Swapping out the stock V6 or LT1 K-members is no longer a requirement as it once was, it is merely an option.

I have parted out an '02 Trans Am and am in the process of parting out a '98 Z28......I have a set of factory engine mounts/stands out of the '98 (same '98 through '02)......also have factory exhaust manifolds, etc if you need them.

Yes, Craigslist and alike. Also try Copart auto Auction.
