ive gotten 18mpg driving easy with a A3 and 3.70 gears.
driving normal in the middle of summer, ive seen 13mpg, but thats cruising at 80 on the interstate at like 3000 rpms.
i figure im having so much fun driving it, its worth putting gas in it.

YEAH... My car runs nice and smooth with a lump lump... I run a comp cam 240 dur .581 .581 lift... little bigger than the edelbrock cam also makes more vacuum...
I currently have a 3000 stall and th350 non lock up converter...I have a 3.23 factory rear (want to upgrade to 3.70 )
I went carb to keep the the wiring and fuel system simple. C3s dont have alot of space.
