Default 1972 Camaro LS1 conversion Questions

I totalled my 2000 SS and i want to buy the car back from insurance. The motor and tranny is all good. Just the body is badly damaged. I found a 1972 Camaro split bumper rolling body for $1500 with interior and no motor or tranny. I was wondering is it too much of a job to convert it or what? My brother can paint the car and all i pay is for paint no labor. My plan is Hugger Orange with black stripes ( SF Giants fan ) with black Z06 rims. What yall think? Any advice, input, comments are totally welcomed.. Thanks guys

Make sure to keep all your emmisions equipment from the wrecked car. It should pass without issues.

Thanks guys.. Im just waiting for insurance to tell me how much my old SS would cost.
Schitzo - Thanks.. looking at your page made me want to do it so much more. Quick question, If the car had a vinyl top can i sand it down to make it look like its never been there? Like a regular hard top?

I'd be interested to find out what they charge you to buy the car back.

Yup, rip off your top , get out your grinder, DA sander and air file and get to work. My 1st gen used to be a vinyl top car.....

I say do it, the 72 will always be worth more than a modded 4th gen anyways.
