69 Camaro: Anyone selling anything to connect factory "looking" tach to LS1 harness?
I am finishing a swap into a 69 camaro. I would like to hook up the factory "style" tachometer to the ls1 harness. Does anyone know someone selling either an adapter to connect them or an aftermarket tach that looks like the factory that will run off the ls1 5-volt tach signal?
I am not wanting to do an externally mounted autometer etc type tach..
thanks guys

Im in the same boat.
I will be trying the same with my factory hood mounted tach on my GTO. I am still a bit away from that point so I had not begun to research the issue, but I'll check it out and if I find anything I will let u know.

you can re-flash the pcm to run a stardard style tach, i just flashed my brothers pcm last night to run a autometer tach in his 6.0L (ls1 pcm) malibu, the pcm has a - tach output just like any - dist output
the problem is that stock ls1 style pcm's have the wrong output signal and the tach will operate at about 1/2 the actual rpm, i changed the output signal on his pcm and re-flashed it and now the tach works perfect

I think 67rsss is running a stock '67 tach with his LS1. I'm not sure if he had to do a pull-up resisitor or if ran it straight off the PCM tach output. Like others said here, you can reflash the PCM to output the correct pulses per revolution for a standard V8 tach.

Which section did you change the tach in? I see tach output in "Engine/General" section but it lists Resolution High - 6, Resolution Low - 6
Also do you know what you changed it to?
