What size booster do you have running the set up?

Sorry I've been MIA for awhile.

We aren't using transmission lines, we're currently running a T-56.

Stock radiator so far, yes.

The 605 box is from CPP. We had to shim it all up etc, but it fits nice.

We're running a Moser 9 inch rear end, 3.90 gears and a Tru-Trac posi unit. Not sure if the stocker will hold up, depends what you're looking to do. I used the 9" because I had most all the parts laying around other than axles and a housing.

nice build on the car so far. had the same prob. with the headers on my 63 ended up using the stock camaro manifolds the worked just fine. the x frame just blows in this way and many more ways. had to ad a perimeter frame on mine to stiffen it up a bit.trying to figure out how to start up a trread and resize picts.have more build picts on my website if this will help.

Great project! We're in the midst of a '59 Biscayne LS1 6 Speed project ourselves. Thanks for posting your trials here, the info will save many people lots of time in trial and error.

BTW, MagnaFlow just finished the exhaust system that exists behind the rear wheels for '58 - '59 cars, I believe it fits up to '62 as well.

Thanks!

I'll have to look into the kit, our exhaust guy tried a bunch of different ways to get it to work but no luck with the 9" in there.

Here's the info right from a MagnaFlow rep on the system, we're all hoping it fits as described!

Here are some shots I took today.

The wiring is all done, the new radiator setup is in, pretty much there other than the interior and some misc stuff.

Damn ,sure loks sharp. Why did you have to shim the 605 box? I have one in my 62 Biscayne and it fit pretty good. My problem was witth the rad to steering box. The rib on the steering box hit the rad so I had to grind it down abit to give me a 1/4 " clearance between the two.

Thanks guys!

We had to shim the box because when we had the Camaro accessory setup on it at one time.

That's a Ron Davis Radiator and fan setup, with their overflow. They have it setup for this conversion, it's a new part number they just released.

Hey Brad, Jim. This is Bruce in Pleasanton with the '62 Impala SS I had for sale. Your car looks great! Was wondering if you ever thought of running rack and pinion steering? I saw a kit for it a while back on e-bay but wasn't impressed with it. Hope to get up to your place this weekend, time allowing. I'd like to check it out.
