Default Info on running only "high" speed fan?

I'm not really going to have room to run 2 fans on my conversion, and I've found REALLY good info on wiring up the 2 fans w/relays.

What I'm looking to do is have only 1 fan, but have it come on "Fast" or full-strength any time the fan is prompted to do so.

Cany anyone help me design a circuit to do so? Can I just follow the diagram posted here ( https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...schematic.html ) that use the 2 fans and just leave out the "slow" fan stuff?

Some of you wiring guru's please advice on the best way to do this...

Just use the 'fan 1' (low speed) wire, and wire it to the 85 terminal of a relay, power the 86 and 30 terminals, then run 87 terminal to the power side of the fan. Then ground the other side of the fan. Whenever the fan comes on it will be high speed.

I'm using the factory 2 speed single fan in my Thunderbird with an external controller as a single speed and the car never gets beyond 207* where I have the fan set. Once the car starts moving that number falls to 197 or so according to the scan tool and stays there.

My truck PCM doesn't have a fan out hence the external control. Make sure you run a fuse and relay for this or you may be a little disappointed with the results. Factory fans take a LOT of juice to start. I found the adjustable fan control at Advance for $35.

Hope this helps.

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/lt...formation.html

Covers pretty much all fan combos

Could you explain to me how to do this while integrating a fuse into the circuit? What size wire and fuse should I be using?

And what type of power for terminals 86/30? 12v constant, or does one need to be switched, and if so, which one?

Thank you VERY much!

Look at this and scroll to the bottom of the page... http://www.lt1swap.com/wiringharness.htm That site has lots of good info, too bad I didn't know about it when I did my first swap.

Hey thanks for that link. I've seen his site before but I had never scrolled all the way down there.

Do the fan circuits draw the most current out of pretty much everything? I'm afraid I'm not using the right size wire/fuses for the rest of my harness. I'm copying the harness info posted in my very first link, but it doesnt say what size wires to use and I'm not an electrical engineer by any means!

Only wire bigger than the fans is the starter solenoid
