Look at it like this... the car is worth a LOT more running than not running, and it shouldn't take more than an hour or two to track down a short. The guy selling it is either really dumb, or trying to hide something. Either way, do you really want to buy a car that he built?

Well the car is really cheap pretty much buying it for nothing... lets just the car was never started after the swap due to this fuel pump .... and the price is less then a fbody roller! comes with full set of draglites aftermarket lcas swaybars panhard lowering springs 98+ fbody dash new seats built 4l60e f1 cam ported heads fast 90 intake and tb etc... dont really want to give away the rest... lets just say its no 346

You could always wire it through it's own relay, and not through the computer. You could buy a relay and just temp wire it. I know Painless has a kit for about $45 with a base and a lot of wire.....that would at least tell you if it is the computer, which I don't think would keep the pump from working, without being wired wrong.

All the computer does is ENABLE the fuel pump relay, just like you turning the key in the ignition ENABLES the radio. The power for the fuel pump doesn't go through the computer.

pcm controls the ground for the FP relay. The pump wire should be fused before the relay then will run through the FP relay to the pump. The pump should be chassis grounded. The FP relay +12v control should be ignition switched in accy/run/start.
