Anyone gone blow thru lsx yet?
If so what cam are you using along with power valve? Im getting ready to put my carb back together and im wondering which power valve to use. I have no clue what its gonna idle at(inches of vacuum). Any help would be great. I gotta make Boost Referenced Power Valve.

Call me crazy but why don't you get the thing together with the powervalve you have already and fire it up without the boost and set the idle where you want it. Then see what kind of vacuum you are making and go from there based on the recommended 2-3 in Hg less than it makes at idle. I know it might be sort of a pain to disassemble and put in a powervalve but I would think it would be worth it.

Hey I thought that avatar looked familliar. I replied to your thread over on ttf in the carb section. Could you post a link to where you posted what works for you? Id like to see what you did and kinda compare notes. The car is running good but I want it set on kill Maybe you could pm here or on ttf I dont have a chance to make it over here much anymore. i'll dig up what i ended up with and post later today-here we go
i normally run one of Kevins carbs from csu, but the one i have now i made work, it was free, lol
im running a BG 750 BT carb-they dont do much other than annular boosters, which i like to run
i changed the hi sp a/b's to .023, 74 pri and 93 sec jets, .035 pri/sec squiters,
drilled out the pvcr to .080, nitrophyl(solid) front/rear floats, sec. jet exts.
set the pv 2-3 points below idle vacume, and green pump cams front/rear
i was pretty much in the 11.5 afr range thru the whole run, 22 degs total advance using a 2 bar map sensor
the single most street improvement came with using the green pump cams, then the pv closer to the idle vacume reading-the rest of the changes were for tuning under power, to keep from going lean-the BG carbs are a little leaner than a Holley it seems-i wish Holley would make a carb with ann boosters, repl a/b's, and vacume ports, in diff cfm's
when i first got this running, i used a blowthru carb off my old 489 b/b procharged chevelle, which ran deep into the 9's, and the carb was to lean on the ls motor-would hardly rev, thats when i first tried the green pump cam and it was like night and day, but it ran perfect on the b/b-go figure, my guess is with the intake design, a lot of fuel sticks to those crazy runners so it needs a good shot to make it to the comb. chamber
dont forget you need a boost ref fuel system, and a good pump

There was that one white 4th gen (93-97 bodystyle) Camaro there..I think the Drag Radial class...Jim Flipowski...looks like he switched over to LSx power..he is running a single turbo with a CSU blowthru carb....

Powski is def running good, then everything he has had runs good-i think the last time i talked to him, he was around 198 mph in the 1/4

Yea the Regals running not turbo yet but the hotside and x-over are all done and Ive been driving it around a little trying to work out some bugs.I updated the build thread a couple of days ago.
I have modded the carb per hangar18 specs except for the pvcr's since I knew I would probably run na for a while until I had the $$ to finish it right. I wound up with orange cam in front and black in the secondaries. Its very responsive now. Im gonna put some temp exhaust and a muffler on in a week or so then a wideband soon after. Im pretty sure it has a bit much jet in it now but better safe than sorry. I'll dial it in once I get some backpressure and a wb. But for now I must say this 5.3 has really impressed me with the way it runs and the power it has.
