Where on earth would I get the tailshaft housing off of an fbody tranny? Already checked ebay with no luck. Wait? Could I use the one off of my v6 tranny?

Motor doesnt come with a tranny, the guy split them up to get them sold, hes hurting for cash pretty bad.

My car is a 99, I do plan to use Cruise Control, just not sure how yet since my v6 is drive by wire and my new motor will not be.

The V6 one you might be able too..I have to see a pic of it to see.

I got mine at a local Junk Yard, they just happened to have a trashed Transmission from a LS1 Camaro in the pile of 400 Tranny Cores that they have..

As much custom **** that I have done, it helps to know where you can get any part you may need..

Couldn't see it that well, it looked like a 6-bolt one to me. Does it have 6 Bolts holding it on the Tranny?

Ha, I have no idea, I just stuck my hand with the camera under the car and took about 20 pictures, this was the only one that had anything useful in it. When I get it moved up to the front garage over the pit ill have a look. Is that all I need? 6 bolts and it will work?

What I mean is that if that Tailshaft housing has 6 Bolts holding it to the Tranny, then that is the one that you need, and it will bolt up to the Truck Tranny without a problem.

Also the tail shaft houseing has 6 bolts so I think im good to go there!

But, im getting ready to put the new motor on the stand but I have no idea what size bolts to use? I was told its a metric thread but thats all I know. I NEED to know!

Alright, I already typed this out for the local forum so this is largely going to be a copy paste.

This post was from sunday night-
We (a buddy and I) got started around noon yesterday, and after several interruptions (breaking tools, eating, snow removal) we got it down to the k member bolts at around 11, I got the first 2 off and broke the 3rd. I picked up around 3 today and finished around 4. Grabbed my dads impact gun and buzzed off the other 3 k member bolts and brought the car up(scary) and rolled the motor out.

My help...

Parts pile growing

Easiest y pipe removal ever....

Starting to get kinda roomy in there...

Scariest freaking moment EVER working on a car!

Its out!!!!

The big empty (there really is alot of room in here)

TADA!

Not to bad I suppose, I had help yesterday, but was on my own today for the "fun" part. I called grandma in from the house to take the picture, that was all the help I got today, lol.

What do y'all think?!?

If for whatever reason I messed up the pictures, I dont think I did them right, go here, this is the original version.

Ok, so, I have the motor now, and am looking at this ball of wire thats supposedly an engine harness. Its from an 02 Silverado. What all has to change? Can it stay mostly intact and just change the connectors to the body harness? There is SO much wire where does it all go to?
