Default Serpentine Systems - Vet vs F-body vs Truck?

does anyone have a link or can post up some diagrams showing the difference between the serpentine systems of the Vet, F-body, and Truck. Including the offsets (apparently they are all different, from what i've gathered?)

trying to figure out what system if any will work for my swap/configuration.

thanks.

"truck" engines...

Corvette LS3 (pretty sure all vettes other than ZR1 are the same)

98 to 2002 F-Body

I would stay away from the F-body stuff purely out of serviceability concerns. Alternators are a somewhat regular service item and they are a total pain in the ***** to get to (obviously).

Do you know what the offset difference is between the three?

i'm swapping in a 5.3(truck) motor so that is what i have. but, i have a feeling i'm going to be making my own brackets AGAIN, because i need my custom 200amp alternator (which is gigantic in size compared to stock) to be mounted where the F-body one is. it's on a tubed offroad vehicle so accessing it isn't an issue.

those are great pictures, thanks!

as measured from the flat on the timing cover to the back rim of the pulley: a corvette pulley is 0.6", f-bodies and GTOs are 1.0", and trucks and SUVs are 2.5".

keep in mind the back belt on all 3 are the narrow groove for the AC compressor, so the actual accessory belt will be another 3/4" or so farther out.

thanks 1BadAction! that is the info i was looking for.

i think i can spare the longer truck setup, put i can see if you are trying to fit 10lbs in a 5lb can the Vet system may be worth converting to.

thanks again.

one more thing,

so are the water pumps different for all three systems? i see differences in water neck inlet/outlets, but are they different lengths, like old school long/short small chevy pumps, or is it just the pulley offset that is on each one?

not sure about the neck length, but all 3 are definately different because of the outlet locations.

Hmm.. never seen that as a problem, even in the tight confides of a 4th Gen F-body.

Yea, the Alternator can some straight off the front of the Engine with the entire Bracket in an F-body, I've changed a couple. The little piece on the back isn't that difficult either.
