Thanks buddy. I told Frank the Ravspec price. I'll wait to see if he can get the wheels for less.

how do you plan on getting out of the car quickly with that 3rd door bar so high? looks like you'll have to stand in your seat to get in and out.

Great build..one question. i don't think anyone commented about the cams you want to put in, and ive been wondering the same thing as you..what size cams to put in without changing the valvetrain? What are you going to be doing exhaust wise?

Any ideas for the best sound?

^ Haha.

I'm going to stay with the stock cam for now. I want to make sure the engine runs well before I try to get more power. Also, I have a feeling that this build is going to be right down to the wire trying to make it to the first event (probably at the end of March). Tuning can be time consuming, so I don't want to have to worry about that for now.

If everything runs well during the season and I get a few weeks where there are no events, then I will install an ASA cam and get it tuned (maybe with some nitrous too).

I'm using 1-3/4" long-tube headers with 3" collectors probably going into a single 4.5" tube (unless I miraculously have extra time in which case I will make some kind of stupid exhaust). I'm not sure whether I should use two 3" mufflers before the Y or a single 4.5", probably the single 4.5" for less weight and easier fitment.

Decided to make it a little easier for the passenger to get in the car.

Yeah right... haha.

Rocker panel gusset.

A-pillar gusset.

B-pillar gusset.

Cage done.

Decided to strip the left rear quarter panel to see why there was so much bondo on it.

Found about an 1/8" of bondo everywhere on the panel.
F!
U!
C!
K!

And I don't even know why. The panel was pretty straight, a bunch of dings but nothing major.

I have a few more things to do before paint: weld rear quarter panels where I cut off the bottoms, roll rear fenders, beat out transmission tunnel, bend front frame rail flanges for more steering clearance, and weld in brackets for hydraulic e-brake, accusump, and remote filter.

Thanks for giving me something cool to read today. I read this all on a tiny sidekick screen and joined so I could post up.

Can't wait to see this done and running and also start my build.

Sweet. What are you building?

Here's a small update of what I've done in the last few days.

Remember those quarter panel pieces I cut off?

Started filling them in.

Welded in plates to close the holes and ground down the welds to make it flush with the quarter panel.

Found a little more rust in the left rear wheel well, cut it out, and patched it.

To make room for stupid steering angle, I bent the frame rail flanges in the front wheel wells up to make them flush with the rail. That way, the inside edge of the tire will hopefully clear the frame rail at full lock.

Unmolested frame rail on Eulises' car.

Molested frame rails on my car.

I also welded the flanges to the rail for more strength.

Finally got around to opening some boxes of parts I ordered a while ago.

Elite Engineering catch can. This thing is sexy (at least as sexy as catch cans get). Also comes with a sweet aluminum mounting bracket and hardware to put it on an LS1.

Remote slave bleeder line and replacement SS brake lines.

New slave and throwout bearing.

I also got a 1/2" shorter accessory belt to work with the 10% underdrive ATI damper.

Those are just some small things I had laying around. The real sexiness (Daft kit, Accusump stuff, hydraulic e-brake, new wheels, baller practice wheels, AND MORE) is coming in the next couple of weeks.

The plan is to finish up welding and hammering this weekend, bodywork next week, and paint it pink on Valentine's day weekend.

And once again, huge thanks to Slidewayz Motorsports. They've been working hard to keep up with my gigantic list of parts, also got me bodywork supplies, and are letting me use their fender roller to be able to fit baller wheels mentioned above.

Check out this awesome teaser video they just released of a meet a couple of weeks ago. Mel, I think I forgot to tell you about this. Sorry, I'm a douche, but we'll hit up the next one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dcrx6gq3IT0

DAMN! I really wish my car was running already.
