Default has anyone got a 5.3 bored

I just want to see if anyone got a 5.3 motor bored to 5.7 or 6.0 or even bigger

I've seen them go to 5.7 but don't think they'll go to a 6.0 without sleeves

I've got one bored to 5.7, thats as much as you can go.

How much is left after you go to a 5.7, how durable is it? I was thinking of doing that with my Truck when it comes times to re-build it.

which 5.3?? i am over borin an iron 5.3 and have not seen anything that it cant be bored out as much as any iron block...

if you mean Al.... good luck i think 5.7 is biggest till it gets relaly expensive.

3.905 is fairly common, I don't see anyway it would go to 4" you'd already be going about .120 over just going to 3.905

Hopefully someone will chime in that has sonic checked the cylinder walls for thickness at these large over bores.

The Deck may look like it would, but look at the sides of the complete Cylinders, I knw they do get smaller, and that is where the limits are..

yeah Im talking iron block. isnt a 327/5.3 what they start with to make a 350/5.7. What is the average price to get a 5.3 bored to 5.7

Depends on what the Machine Shop rates are.

Btw.. 5.3l=323ci..just like the 5.7 LS1, 346ci..

the only real question is, how does it effect the block if it weekens it more then a normal ls1 or what
