I'm running the Hooker headers and Hooker mounting plates on my 68 Camaro. I used the frame and motor mounts that were on my old gen I 350. Fit great, no problems with the steering box or suspension. I didn't have to modify the f body oil pan either with the Hooker plates.

Thanks guys... I am using a mix of original small block frame mounts and plates from the engine builder.

you must have the short steering arms if your inner tierod ends aren't smacking the f-body pan.

Rodder,

Did your Autokraft mounts, Autokraft pan, and Hooker LT's go in with no interference? Which Hookers did you use?

Thanks,

I used ATS plates, SBC frame stands, and Hooker headers. I had to dimple one of the header primaries for eextra clearence of the pitman arm. It was just about touching without the dimple. Other than that they fit beautifully. I ran a moroso 7 qt pan with my setup. When i lowered my engine in my stock manifold just barely hit my steering box so i had to pull the engine out and remove the manifolds before dropping it back in.

Thanks,
I made 3 dings in the left header to clear (by 3/16" or so) the steering box and pitman arm:

I made one ding but it just barely cleared without it. Like maybe a papers width. ATS plates, and Hooker headers.

those are DENTS and will hurt the performance.

Be sure to use plates that will work with your headers. . why pay that good $$ for headers and the smash them???

I would recommend using brand new motor mounts too.Energy Suspension makes the tall/narrow and sort and wide mounts. My Chevelle S&P pan had clearance problems on the passenger front when the steering was turned left to lock and my Dougs headers were touching the passenger rear upper control arm. After installing the short wide mounts from Energy I have no problems.
