LS2 accessories
I have been searching everywhere, and I cannot find an answer. Hoping somebody on here will know. What (if anything) prevents the GEN IV accessory drive setup from working on a GEN III motor?
Basically I have a 2005 LQ4, it did not come with the accessories or brackets and I would like to go to the Corvette arrangement. I have been looking at kits:
19155167 - GMPP Accessory Drive System Without A/C - Fits LS2, LS3 & LS7 Engines (19155067 - with A/C)
and
19155166 - GMPP Accessory Drive System Without A/C - Fits LS1 & LS6 Engines (19155066 - with A/C)
If possible I would like to go with the LS2 accessory drive because they are the Corvette arrangement. The LS1 systems are the CTS-V arrangement. Any info would be great.

The only 2 things you would run in to are:
#1 the offset of the accessory drive won't match your balancer pulley. So you would have to get a Corvette balancer.
#2 the 4.8/5.3 blocks don't have a hole in them that you would have to add. Drill and tap is all. I know I have seen pictures of it on this site somewhere.

#2. Does the 6.0L block have the hole for the Corvette LS2 system or would it need to be drilled and tapped as well? I know there is a hole that would need to be added (for the alternator bracket) if going to the F-body arrangement on the 6.0L, but I am not sure about the Corvette systems.
Anyway, other than the balancer and drilling/tapping a hole, it just bolts up? Waterpump and all? I wonder why I was being told that it would not. Guess that explains why they couldn't give me a reason other than "It just can't".
Thanks for the help.
