i ordered a set of brp`s 1 7/8" coated headers. i also broke down and ordered they`re motor mounts. when they get here i will be fitting the motor/trans. im working crazy hours at work right now, so its going to be a couple of weeks before any real progress is made.

last night i installed the spec billet flywheel/stage3+ clutch. tonight i mated the motor/trans and put them in the car for another trial fit. i will get a pic of that tomorrow. its not quite the same way brp did it , but it was close. on another note, the most beautiful set of headers ive seen showed up today.

well, i got the motor mounts tacked to the crossmember. i got the motor sitting at 4 degrees. there seems to be plenty of clearance.

as far as the trans crossmember goes, i just moved it back about an inch or so and redrilled the holes!

the motor looks right at home!

welllll!!!!!! still no real progress on the malibu as im still trying to get the c10 right! ive got a ton of parts stock piled for the malibu when i do get back on it! as for the c10, i finally decided i have have enough of slipping belts/ breaking belts. so i sold the procharger and bought a t6hybrid/ 85mm turbo. so now im in the middle of trying to sort that configuration out. heres a pic of where im at now with it

how is the clearance on the filter to the headers? and any pics of the floor where and how much you had to cut? did the brp kit not have a crossmember in the kit? I looking at going the same route as your set up. keep up the work.

Jomma you better check the clearance to the steering linkage and the oil pan at full lock turn. B-man had a an issue in his A-body using the same pan as you. You can see it in this thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...ng-list-7.html The autocraft pan is deeper than the ls1 f-body pan up front. I looked at mine in an attempt to help B-man but discovered that the f-body pan is also recessed on the sides which gives just enough room for the steering linkage knuckles to clear the pan at least that is the case on mine.

hey rallystyle, i hav`nt tried to fit the headers yet. i have some drawings that brp sent me of where to cut. i will try to dig those up. you can order the brp kit with or without the crossmember. i couldnt justify the extra money, so i tried to fit my stock crossmember and it worked! i can get you some pics of it if you like. i didnt have to cut it or anything! i bolted the front of the crossmember to the back holes and drilled out two more holes.
thanks for the heads up rockytopper! i pushed the car out of my shop and didnt even think to check the steering! and i probably didnt turn the steering wheel enough to get into trouble. i will be checking that out asap. i do have an fbody pan available to me if i do in fact need one. i cant wait to get back on this project. im going to be about another month getting the c10 back on the road first! ive still got to fab up all of the hot piping and down pipe for the turbo!
