Got the por 15 on the car nice product. I should have spent a bit more time on the cleaning part of it but that's just me.
I did confirm its a LQ4 not a LQ9 but its okay with me.
The plan for the motor
thumpr cam 54-600-11
comp timing
7.4 pushrods
titanium retainers
gold comp cams roller rockers 1.72 (8mm)
beehive springs
just help it move a bit.
it will sound a bit better than this

only real difference in lq4 and lq i9 is the lq9 had aluminum heads. if i were you, i'd stroke the lq4 and make it a 408, can be done fairly cheap, gm hi tech did a write up in one of the last two magazines about it. That's what's going in my 70, a 408. good luck with your build and keep the pics coming

I did however manage to get these done during the week. S/S door strikers, just need a bit more of polishing and they will be good to go.

Well I have been busting my head over the last several weeks. I sold the edelbrock intake and decided to to with a ported ls2 intake. I also have been making a lot of calls and research and have bought the comps mother thumpr cam(54-601-11) to give me a bit of hp gain and give me the idle I was looking for. I also will be picking up thier springs and pushrods. I bought the ls2 intake ans started taking my motor apart.
Since I no longer need my truck intake I will be selling the truck intake, oil pan, and a spare ls1 block I have.
Things I need are ls2 fuel rail, ls2 injectors and a 4 bolt 90 mm t/b or parts to adapt ls2 to ls1. if anyone has any of these parts, laying around let me know I will take them of your hand.
Since I do not know how to replace the cam and do the degreing if anyone is local and would like to give me a hand I will keep the beers coming.
here are some pics. That is my four year old boy lending a hand.
I would also like to thank Rick from Hood-Latches.com for coming out and meeting with me. What a great guy, and the parts look killer. Cant wait till he releases the latch for the chevelles.
no anything in the car that is why its so high.

Other billet goodies that will be added to the car will be
billet trunk hinges
billet hood hinges
billet hood stops ( I will make those)
and door vents

I did not get around on test it out. I thought it would be to big just by looking at it but I know it works. We have a member here who is using it in a turbo set up and clears the hood with no problem.
the por-15 is real easy. The time prep time is what a pain. Like anything else with coating or paint its all in the prep. Since I want to keep the budget down I will be working on my spare frame and grinding off the rust than add a couple of coat of por-15 to it. You can spray it on but I brushed it on less mess but takes more time.

Since I have been short on $$$ I decided I will not blast the frame and p-coat. I have been sanding and grinding on the frame over the last couple of days( will post pics later)
and will be using por-15. I liked it so much it only made sense to go this route. I have more time than $$ so stiping the surface rust was a must.
I also got my mother thumper cam and have the ls2 injectors and rail on its way.
Just need someone local to put in the cam, springs and push rods. Any volunteers?

I started working on the frame. It was a bit rusty but after long hours or grinding it looks okay wish I would have spent a bit more time on it before I applied por-15. Here it is done. Top pics are of primer.
I have a extra cross I also applied por-15
her are some pics of the latch
Next in line is the rear end and hopefully start putting all the suspension parts on in a week or so.
Here is the list of part I have accumilated.
parts to be added out back is 12 bolt rear posi unit 3.90 gears hotchkis coils, QA1 shock UMI upper and lower control arms( unless I can get some Currie or Metco) c5 z06 brakes with e-brake set up(almost done and no its not kore 3)
upfront will be ats spindles c5z06 brakes hotchkis coils and qa1 shock, hotchkis sway bar and for now stock upper and lower with energy bushings.(need $$$ for SPC or global west)

As as you can see my cave is a mess. I finally go some dynamat and that will be next to go on the car. Now I just need to look for black bentley carpet.
