Help with 99-02 cluster in 98 car please!

Help with 99-02 cluster in 98 car please! Alright guys here's the rundown
1998 Trans Am, formerly A4
Now: 2000 LS1/T56
2000 harness and PCM
2000 fuel tank and sending unit
Everything is wired in and working with the exception of the 99-02 instrument cluster. That is my only concern, and my only thing left to do. What specifically do I need to do to make this cluster work?
What I do know is that I do NOT need to swap to a 99+ dash harness, and that 98 uses 35 wires for the instrument cluster where as 99+ only uses 17 due to data being recieved through a serial data wire. This is the most in depth info I have been able to find after a couple hours worth of searching. Not very in depth
I suppose pinouts for the 98 and 99+ instrument clusters would help a lot. I was able to find a pinout for the 99+ but not the 98. There is one thread for 98 cluster pinout that shows up in the search but it is a dead link! I cannot for the life of me find a pinout for the 98 cluster
Can anyone here help me out? This is all I need to do and the car is DONE!

I assume 99-02 gauge cluster just bolts into 98. If plug on back of 98 gauges does not fit on back of 99-02 gauge, get a 99-02 plug and connected wiring from a parts car. Most but not all of the gauge wiring goes to plugs 220 and 230 of your 2000 harness. Get the pinouts of both dash gauge harness and start swaping pins. Having a set of wiring diagrams to both cars is a must to make sense of it all. The pinouts are somewhere on this site. The wiring diagrams are here or go to Autozone's site and look under car repair section for complete Camaro/Transam wiring diagrams. PM me for any specific questions or list here and I'll try to help.
Making that work will be a lot of work. With the 99+ the fuel sending unit wire run to the PCM, your runs to the cluster. There are also numerous other changes. It would be easier to put the 98 cluster back in as the electrical changes would be minimal and easier.
The diagrams on Auto Zones site are very general and useless. No pin numbers and most of the time the wire colors are wrong.

The wiring diagrams in the auto repair section of Autozone's web site for 99-02 Camaro and Trans Am include pin numbers, connector number, wire size, color, etc. They are of factory service manual style and include everything from engine sensors to power windows. I found this info invaluable for adapting a complete 99 Camaro engine and body harness to another vehicle. This site was recomended by other forum members and I thought it was a great resource.

I have a 98 cluster with a 2000s tuned computer ]The cluster is in and working as of Monday night. I will post up info on how to do this when time allows, been busy
