ls1 controller

allright i have a 6.0 lq4 motor with a 24 tooth reluctor wheel and im wondering if the msd ls1/ls6 controller for the 24 tooth wheel will work instead of the ls2/ls7 controller for the 58 tooth reluctor

im trying to do a budget build and dont want to change the reluctor wheel if possible
any help will be appreciated

what about harnesses do i still need the ecm and motor and tranny harness ?

the 6010 comes with a harness. the harness will hook up to the coils, cam sensor, crank sensor and a map sensor if you choose to run one. thats all you need to run for the carb set up.

If you are using an electronic auto trans you will need another control box/harness for that. The MSD box is just for the coils.

im dropping an ls1 and t56 into a 68 firebird,was trying to figure it all out
do i need a harness for the t56?

By "LS1" do you mean the carb'd LQ4 you mentioned earlier in this thread? If so, you'll want to wire up the backup light switch and the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the T56. For a carb with T56, most people leave CAGS and reverse lockout disconnected. This will be custom to your car, not an off the shelf harness.

If you are doing an actual fuel injected LS1/T56 swap, then the engine and trans should be in the same harness. CAGS, reverse lockout, and VSS go from the trans to the PCM, and backup light switch will run to one of the connectors for the body harness, where you'd connect them to your backup lights/power.
