Is that initial or total? Sounds a bit strange to have 22° right off cranking speed, but I'm pretty open minded at this stage (just learning).

22 cranking.
it is a big duration camshaft.
my stock 6.0 liked more initial as well, but it had a fairly large cam for a stock cube. 237 duration.
i have 22 cranking, then it slowly ramps up to 34 in the midrange, back down to 32 up top. made 11 dyno pulls yesterday, and 32 degrees of total made 9 more hp and 10 more ft pounds than 30 degrees did.

my old 6.0 thats in a buddys car picked up 12hp from taking his timing from 36 down to 33 total.

plugs look good. air fuel is a lil rich still at 12.5. i want to get it to the track and lean it out a bit and see what et it runs. it might like less timing being leaner, but you can only do so much on the dyno. i want to see real results.

mine is a 220/220 cam and so it usually sits at around 18 deg cranking and used to start ok at that. soon as its idling its around 33degress (vacuum advance included at +10) and once the throttle is opened up or the car is showing little or no vacuum the maximum timing is around 29degrees all in.(uk 95 octane fuel)
