6.0 Liter into a 1972 Cutlass
Starting my build post. LQ4 6.0 Liter/ 4L60E (T56 not in budget) in a 1972 Cutlass.... Yes another LQ4/ A-Body swap. LQ4 from a 2003 3/4 ton Suburban. Going with a Z06 cam thanks to my brother in law and advice from GenIIIDude, A VAS & others. Going to mod my own harness with the help of my Dad (he's the wiring guy) and LS1Tech stickys. Speartech PCM flash & program unless I can find someone local here in the Houston Area. Building my own mounts, Crossmember, Tri-Wye style kinda home made headers. More to follow when material & parts arrive.
The "to be continued" Cutlass
How I want it to be "Some Day"

LQ4 looking for a new home

My USUAL hobby that sucks up most of the extra money & time

Another A-Body guy.. good.... nothing new to worry about, we been there and done that.. so.. if you need any advise, just ask away...
What style of adapter plates are you going to be using (S&P or BRP)?
for a mail order tune, I used Jesse at Wait4meperformance.. good turn around and results. A bit cheaper too.
Keep the thread going.. Pictures !

You might have been better off with BBC headers for the same year a-Body. The tube are already close to the same location and you just need to cut off the flange and make some minor tube adjustments and weld the LS1 Flanges on.
Why are you starting with SBC headers ? unless the were dirty cheap or free..

Dude, I just noticed your car is a 70 not a 72.. Unless it has a 70 front clip, you may want to look into that
The silver one you pictured is a 72. The easy way to tell is a 70 will have a flat, squarish nose. While a71 and 72 are more sloped with a more square grill area vs rectangular on a 70. The only diff between 71 and 72 are 72's have black trimmed headlight bezel's and if it has a vinyl top it will cover the entire roof to include the A-pillar's

You noticed...LOL Somewhere down the line it got punched in the nose and they put a 70 front clip on it, but it is a 72 It's even a Texan!! I looked up the VIN codes and it was built in Arlington TX.

Been a while but I've been able to make some progress.
Made my mounts using 80s style "corporate" mounts.
I modded some SBC headers with LS flanges clearance is good.
Mocked the 6.0 in and need some "nip Tuck" on the frame crossmember to clear the vette bat wing pan but I have good PS pulley to gear box clearance.
I will also have to "nip Tuck" the sides of the pan to clear the tie rods.

Should I use the 98 style F Body LS1 fuel rail with a built in regulator or go with the Corvette Regulator/Filter?? I have a 98 F Body Rail so getting one is not an issue.
