I've been spending far too much time at work. Glad to be employed, but hard to be social.
Thinking of going to the Independence show Saturday evening across the street from Joe's Crab Shack. I'll have to give you a call and see where you're going to be.

How does the factory mechanical fan do with the factory shroud and radiator from the 67-72?

It worked great, never had any cooling problems, it would idle with the A/C on and not get hot. As a general rule, these engines aren't hard to cool. I did have a steam port added to the right tank, but other than that it was completely stock. The fan fit the shroud like it was made for it, although I did make my own motor mounts so when I set it up, I set it up so the fan was in the shroud the correct amount.

Thanks again for the tuning Anthony, ran great on the way home. And the speedometer is dead on! I was checking the mile markers on the turnpike, and every mile was right on with the odometer.

What do necessarily mean when you say, "had a steam port added to the right tank"?

I drilled a hole in the right side tank, then I had a brass nipple brazed into it so I had a place to hook up the steam line, that comes off the heads.

I kind of think so too, at least this is what I've been telling myself since he sold it, helps me sleep at night!

So, with that said....... I pose a question to anyone still reading this thread.

Would you sell the orange truck for 30k cash? That's what he's offering. And man, I could do alot with that kind of cash!

lol at the "before" pic of a longbed.

You have some good luck finding nice origial swb c10's! I scour the print ads, craigslist, forums, etc around here and all I find is overpriced rusted out junk for $6000.

I really dig this one. Rusted missing rockers and all.
