Moroso 20140 Pan Anyone have experience with this rig? I just bought one for my 67, afraid it's going to hang a little low. Got a remote filter mount for it, just have to get some AN fittings and some SS line and call it a day.
I am running it. I dont remember it hanging below my k member but im too lazy too go look. I know you have to run two -10an female 90*s right off the pan since theres no room for other fittings. From what i remember the fitting towards the front of the block should have oil flowing OUT of the block INTO the filter, and the fitting at the back of the block should have oil flowing OUT of the filter INTO the block

Right on, that's fantastic. I can run my turbo oil feed from the remote filter right? It'll be a -4an feed. I've just been concerned about clearance issues in the 67, not that it's lowered or anything, but it will have moroso trick front springs and carerra 3-way adjustable front shocks (drag) so it may sit kind of low, but not slammed. =) Thanks for the responses fellas, I really appreciate that!

few notes on the pan//
You have to buy two extra short pan bolts for it to replace the long ones by the bellhousing. The pan rail is sheetmetal all the way around so the long bolts wont work.
Also expect to pay for the oil pickup, wont work without it.
A remote filter is no big deal. Word of advice, Look at aircooled VW parts dealers. Remote filters are common place and EMPI and Bugpack make great ones that are way cheaper than kits catering to V8 guys and such.

cant beat an oil filter adpater for less than 20 bucks!!!! Ive used them before and have probably 10 laying around from the VWs I built. They are nice quality cast aluminum and will work just fine. Plus they use a Fram HP1 filter which is about as good as it gets.
Plumbing an oil cooler and/or turbo oil lines is cake as well.

Got the pan on my 5.3 (low mileage, got it for cheap, complete) with some 45º sweep AN fittings for the -10an to and from the filter. I got the moroso remote filter mount deal on ebay for like $30, same think, got some 1/2 NPT to -10an fittings and what not. Not sure about plumbing the turbo. Return? What size should those be into the pan? I ran a -10an on the return side of my turbo last time with a -4an feed, should I pull the pan off again and drill/tap for some fittings?

Got the pan off, installing a bulkhead -10an for the return line from the turbo and noticed the pickup is cocked a little sideways since it's only held in by one bolt. It looks like the moroso pickup is hitting the windage tray. Is this pan/pickup combo meant to be used with the factory tray or what am I doing wrong? Thanks fellas.

Crap, sorry, Im not using the LH8 PAN cuz its huge. That thing hung down about 2.5" on the sump and flat part of it sat on the crossmember.
I do wish I had got the Autokraft pan tho, its nicer how you dont have to run a remote oil filter.

Ugh, that's way too far, lol. So nothing wrong with the tray eh? Strange, Might have to beat the tray down or cut it or something so it doesn't **** the pickup sideways.
