I love them. No need to guess the speed. Just do the math.

MPH = rpm x tire diameter/final drive ratio x 336

LS1's red line is say 6000 rpm, T56 6th gear is .62 (I think)

for me mph = 6000 x 26/ (4.56 x .62 x 336) = 164 MPH.

Try going that fast in a 67 Camaro (brick) and good luck to you.

so you would not change anything about your 456 gears? that just seems like a lot of gear. right now i have 343 gears in my car but my pops drag races and because of that i have a set of 373 gears and 456 gears that i could put into my car. you think i should put the 456 in? just seems like first gear would be nonexistant.

I am changing them this winter, because they are worn out. I may go with 4.11's, but I am not sure. With my 4.56's I could easily take off in third gear from a stop. First gear is very short...2.97 x 4.56 which is about 13.5:1. I am not really sure what the first gear ratio is in the T56. I have seen conflicting data...one says 2.66 and another says 2.97. Anyway, in the days of 3 speed auto's and 4 speed sticks, for the street with some drag racing, I find the 3.73's to be the ideal ratio. But with two extra overdriven gears you can easily get by with 4.56's. I cruise at 70 mph at about 2500 RPM in 6th gear. It is all up to you and your driving style, needs. If you want to go top end easier, then go with something in the 2's, if you want a little low end, slam you back in the seat, then go with the 3.73's. If you want more of that, go with the 4.56's.

With my 4.56's and the spool, it is impossible to keep the car straight from 1st through 3rd gears, and no street tire stands a chance.
