Nice work man! It's looking good. Can't wait to watch it progress. Are you part of any clubs around here? We have a bunch of guys into roadracing on motownmuscle.com. Just curious if I may have bumped into you around town here.

I'm in the process of planning a build--had a Starion back in the day--found a motorless 86 Widebody Conquest local....

What's the trick on the front crossmember? Looks like you've done some work to the strut towers as well?

I just seam welded the strut towers,(poorly I might add) for some extra rigidity. Actually stitched the whole car, almost everywhere. The cross member had to be modified so that I could keep the vette oil pan. It use to curve back towards the fire wall, I just cut it and boxed it in so that it is straight. Only thing left to do there is weld the bungs for the steering rack. I finally got my steering system figured out, just have to get some pieces made. I might have a few different ones made so that I can run different steering angles. Obviously these will be for drifting.... lol

got the rear all ready for paint, going to squeeze in poly bushings and get that back together hopefully by this weekend.

progress is slow cause I drink too much.

Happy holidays everyone, I've had a crazy couple of months, now ready to get back at it... Had a minor setback one night down town, dude ran the red trying to get his shot up buddys to the hospital, yeah,... um ,long story short I hit them, they rolled a few times..... Totalled the daily, kinda put a damper on the project for a while.
my poor CL-S

thier ****

anyways back to the car.... suspension is done finally, painted bushings in underbody done. made some coilovers, still need to get different spring rates, but we'll see how these are for now.

will be a bit lower once the engine goes in.

1" spacer on the rear might goto a 33mm spacer and put the 25mm on the front.

started sculpting the dash.. only have about a two hours into it right now. Complete redesign as I hate the stock interior. Will be fiberglass covered in black suede with a tastefull blend of carbonfiber.

more to come soon, summers coming quickly!!

I like the drawing over the photo... good idea. That is a great way to get your proportions right and really see if something will work or if you selectively compressed it to fit. I never thought of it, I'll have to use that one in the future!

Very nice project! sucks about the accident, guess that's why you call an ambulance to get your buddies to the hospital.

I think I forgot to ask, are you just using the foam to make a fiberglass shell for the dash? What will the dash be covered with? I like the idea of keeping things stock although they are far from it.

Are the bright white areas for lcd screens (instead of standard meters); if so that is pretty cool. Could run hp tuners to and add a built in pc and tune on the fly. lol
