Looks great! Good job. I'll have to tell my buddy about this thread, he is building a 63 with a stock front end also.

sorry to dig up an old thread but by any chance did you try the vette manifolds upside down? as for turbo purposes.. or does anyone know if this will work on a stock clip?

See post #14 for answer. Look like he tried them and they didn't fit.

yeh i saw that but im pretty sure he was trying them in the stock allocation, not upside down. Theres alot more room above the heads than below.. If you can flip them and keep the shock towers, i can keep the cpp minisub and save the 3000 on the heidts clip. that would be nice!..

Regular, upside down, inside out..... There is no way that any factory cast monifold will fit without cutting up the clip

What did you do to sump the stock tank?

I was thinking a perforated metal ring tacked in place around the pickup with fuel cell foam outside of that.

I just bought a new fuel tank and had a local guy sump it for $40. It actually ended up being less than $200 for everything. I am using an in-line Walbro 340 pump and a Vetter filter/regulator.

hey just wanted to give this a little update... me and a buddy bought it and swapped in a 4l60e, re-did the under hood wiring, got rid of the lime green on the front cover and front cross member, re-did the exhaust and a few other little things. plans are to do a paint job within the next couple weeks and make a center consul with a basic stereo built in.

Post some pics when you get a chance. It would be nice to see the progress. I'm doing an LQ4/T56 swap into my 64.

sure, ill take some in the next day or so, nothing too exciting though. most of the work is just fixing little things, it was a good start but needed some tlc
-the fuel pump was hooked up to the ign not the comp
-fan was hooked up to the fuel pump relay and computer wasn't controlling it
-no main power fuse
-some burnt up wiring that needed replacing
-replaced the dash lights and a headlight
-fixed the crank case vent system
-mounted the dipstick
-re made a lower radiator hose that wasn't so ugly and flowed better
-added an intake elbow so the IAT sensor had a place to be mounted
-got rid of a bad trans and high stall for a 4l60e and stock stall
-re did the driveline
-re did exhaust

now we need to
-replace taillight wiring
-make center consul
-install stereo
-body work and paint
-front swaybar
-get and install grille
-get and install rear seats

then hopefully it should be pretty reliable, comfortable, and good looking
