LS1 A/C compressor with vintage air...
I'm researching LS1 swaps in vintage muscle. I've heard the LS1 A/C compressor isn't capatable with vintage air's A/C kit. I've been told to do this, I'd have to change compressors.
I'm planning on putting an LS1 in a 68 camaro with vintage air. I'm planning on using the the stock LS1 accessory drive. Which means I'll have to notch the frame rail for the stock A/C compressor. But before I do this, I'm checking to see if any body has done this.(which I'm sure they have) I'm just trying to catch some snaggs before it happens...

You might be able to use a modern compressor with the vintage systems if using R12a.
Here is their website.

Check it out and see if its an easier option.

Go to the site, and do some reading there. I am going to try this stuff in my 87 Olds with a modern (134a) compressor with the factory system (R12) and see what happens.
