Hey nice jeep! I am working on a similar project but I have a question, when you decided on your motor mounts did you use the bolt on or weld on mounts? I guess the bolt ons have a clearance issue?? Hopefully you know what I mean or can recommend something.

Okay that's what I was leaning toward, if you don't mind me asking why didn't you go with an LS1 intake? Or some variation of it.

Just curious, how much better is the MPG than the 4.0? Sometimes these LS1 swaps in offroad vehicles can still get pretty good MPG.

I don't remember reading, what gears do you have in the axles? Did you find a new radiator or still using the stock one?

4.88's, 35" tires, lots of armor.

I bought a Champion aluminum radiator off ebay a little over a year ago...big mistake.

It's leaking like a pig.

I thought you were probably geared pretty low. Would you say it's too much gear with the extra power? I'm sorry to hear about the radiator. I keep looking at the FFDynamics radiator you linked. How is everything else going with the swap? Any more bugs peak their head?

I'm looking at doing this swap in my 99 XJ. I ofcourse have a ton of LS1 experience but I am wondering how much you have tied up into this project? Novak seems to have everything to make your life easier but at a price. Just wondering how much I should budget.

FrankZ if you're still out there (?), I apologize if I missed it, but if you had used an LS1 intake, would it be possible to lower the alternator even more via an aftermarket bracket or something to fit everything under the stock hood with the rest of the accessories being stock truck stuff?

My Eagle uses truck accessories with an LS1 intake with the alternator relocated to the right side of the engine with some "custom" work. I bought it with the swap done and don't know exactly how it was done. I can get some pics, but it will be a couple days probably before I can do that.

Great, thanks!

I think I have seen that bracket you're talking about, but I can't remember who makes it...

Sorry, I forgot about this. I hope Frank doesn't mind posting this here. Like I mentioned, this was all done before I bought the car. Don't mind the dirt, I'm afraid to wash the engine because of the sketchy harness. The guy who did the swap, cut the bracket where the alternator was attached and installed the alternator on the right side where a idler pulley used to reside using some custom spacers, aka washers, and a turnbuckle ( I think that's the name of it).

Would an F-Body (98-02) alternator and bracket work? What about a car intake manifold and water pump, so you wouldn't have had to cut up a stock hood? I have a friend considering this swap, just some thoughts...

Yes I'm going to run all 4 O2 sensors for proper fuel management in the closed loop mode.
If you look close enough on the Sanderson website with real BIG eyes youl find one side from one vehicle and the other from another is an exact match. Ive got mine coming from another source but its not hard to figure out. I really don't mind paying someone to make a living but not to go on a vacation on me alone. Novak buys them by the hundreds for less than half the price.
