Going from a 5.3 to a 6.0, Any Changes Needed?

Default Going from a 5.3 to a 6.0, Any Changes Needed?
Hey guys, it looks like I found a smokin' deal on a 2005 LQ4 6.0 long block. My plan is to swap everything from my 2005 5.3 (sensors, intake manifold, injectors, PCM, etc). Do you guys see any issues doing this? Are the injectors the same between 5.3 and 6.0 LQ4's? I know I'll need a re-tune to make everything run decent, but other than that am I missing anything?

Yep should be a direct swap, just retune the PCM. The injectors are the same for the 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0 motors so you don`t even have to swap those out.

It would be just any car swapping long blocks ..

You most likely can get by without a tune.. but I would recommend it, just to be on the safe side and to get them most HP and mileage out of it.

Agreed, especially since I plan on swapping out the stock LQ4 cam for a '02+ LS6 cam. I might even go as far as to yank off my stock 5.3 heads, have the heads cut for 2.00" intake valves and installed with alittle bowl and short-side radias work and drop them on the LQ4 to up the compression alittle.

I figure using GM MLS gaskets with a thickness of .055" I'll still manage at least 10.5:1 if not more, agreed?

You have to remove the crank spacer from the LQ4 to work with a 4l60.

They were aree still used with the 4l80's. You can tell by looking at the rear cover and if the crank is flush with the cover its not installed if it sticks out then it has one.

The all 5.3l stuff will swap right over.
