Default 2005 Silverado 5.3 to 4L80E

I have a stock 2005 5.3 silverado w/stock flexplate. I'm looking to hook up a 2000 4L80E from what I read a need a spacer on my flex plate.

Does anyone have any experience with this swap? What flex plate did you use or can I use the stock one? Which Torque converter too, looking for a Heavy duty replacement?

i got my spacer from gmperformance cheap.. or you could buy a ls1 to older th400 flexplate, that should work.. u need the 4l80e flex plate then buy the adapter easier and cheaper that way.. i rigged one up with nuts before redneck engineering,, it worked,, but i later changed it out,i;ll bee making more power..t70 5.3

u will need the oem 6.0 flexplate, spacer and for ease of use the stock tq converter. this will be the easiest way and correct.

We have numerous write-ups on the 80E swap. Click on the Performance Trucks tab at the top and search away or post up. You'll get a ton more responses from guys who've done the swap on their trucks including pics.

Read EVERY POST before yours. What you ask is the subject of this thread. Be a little more observant next time.
