After doing a little research tonight, im thinking its a 99. Also, the bellhousing is beyond repair, tranny has a pro 5.0 power tower (short shift?), and 6 month warranty.

New update. Sold a few items, including the BBS rims, so i have a couple bucks to try and finish this project before the end of the summer...at least get it running up the street and back. Purchased myself a new flywheel, clutch kit, throw out bearing, and pilot bearing for the cheap. Now i can get some real work done. Next, exhaust and steering setup.

O yea, had the car weighed in today as well, ~2780. 2.5 Iron block, 5 spd, medium cased lsd, single 2.5", full interior, audio/subs installed, a/c+p/s removed. This is is how much a stock 318ti weighs with the iron blocked 4 cylinder, and there is still a lot of room for improved in weight savings.

Rewired the car for the audio and honestly, im impressed with the stock system and the minor upgrades ive done. Ive bypassed and removed the OE amp, installed some crossovers, 2 kicker comp 10" woofers, custom shallow dual truck box, amp for the woofers, and a jvc headunit. The next ICE to be done is XM service since the jvc is already made for it. Other than that, the media screen and custom dash enclosure.

The clutch and new bell housing were shipped out last week, now just playing the wait game. Once theyre here, i can put the drivetrain in, where i want, and make the mounts to fit as well as the driveshaft.

Ordering the wheels this week for the car as well, so those will be here in a week or two.

I love the 318Ti's!

Got 2 friends with them, one weighs ~2200 lbs and puts down 350rwhp (M3 engine). The other has a Cali top variant with a built up LS2 sitting under the hood.

Nifty little cars, very different. Glad to see your quick, orderly progress!

Make sure to post up a completed project cost break down! It'd help out other swap-minded people for sure.

Took my power/drivetrain to work and did some work on them. Installed some missing pushrods and retorqued all the rocker arms. Installed a brand new alternator, as the other one was completely seized up. New starter installed. New coil pack nuts installed. EGR setup removed completely.

As for drivetrain, my brand new bell housing came in as well as my clutch and flywheel kit. I installed a new throwout bearing, pilot bearing, clutch, flywheel, had the flywheel resurfaced (used low mileage, but wanted it like new), aircraft stripped the paint that was painted onto the T56, new bell housing to block bolts, and a few other small things.

what are you doing with the cracked bellhouse ?

those tires are meats man. Where did you get your clutch, and whats the p/n? I got a clutch with mine when I got my motor, its new, but I don't have a new throw out bearing for it and I think I should replace it while I'm at it.

My engine had a new lookng throw out bearing in it when i picked it up, i pulled it and installed a new one anyways, just in case. It never hurts to be sure when i comes to tedious installs and expensive parts. As far as the clutch kit goes, i bought it on ebay. The guy said he blew his engine and tranny so he parted everything out and had just installed that clutch kit. Measurements show its still new but i had the flywheel cut since it seems like the guy heated it pretty good.

I picked up that busted bell housing for you, let me know if you still need it.

So, im pretty close to making my mounts and having the driveshaft made but seemed to have found a hole at the top rear of the engine. There was nothing there when i bought the engine and i have no idea what goes there. I can get a pic tomorrow, but do any of you know what goes there?

Small update: Didnt like the all black so i traded off for gold/polished versions/
